Potje Debuts as First Partner in Quantoz’s New Embedded Payment Services

Quantoz Payments B.V. has unveiled Embedded Payment Services, an innovative, modular API-based platform designed to empower fintechs, digital platforms, and payment service providers by enabling them to embed regulated digital money, accounts, wallets, payments, and compliance features directly into their products. The Dutch group savings app, Potje, which facilitates collective saving for shared objectives among friends, families, and colleagues, is the first to launch on this platform.

The introduction of this service marks an expansion of Quantoz Payments’ offerings, which previously centered around regulated e-money tokens. The new platform provides a comprehensive API and infrastructure meant to streamline the creation of payment and settlement solutions throughout European markets. This allows businesses to selectively integrate payment components while minimizing the challenges related to licensing, compliance, safeguarding, and operational infrastructure.

Built on blockchain-native technology, Quantoz’s Embedded Payment Services allow partners to tailor and scale various components to meet their specific needs. Key features of the platform include digital wallets and accounts, inbound and outbound payments and collections, Pay by Bank functionality, and robust fraud, risk, and compliance processes. Potje’s collaboration with Quantoz during the platform’s development has positioned it as the first live partner to benefit from these integrated services.

Potje users now enjoy the security of their funds being managed under the supervision of the Dutch Central Bank, facilitated by Quantoz Payments. Users also have access to a Europe-wide Pay by Bank service for adding funds, with instant payout processing and flexible withdrawals. Potje’s CEO, Bastiaan Reurink, emphasized that this partnership aims to enhance the ease and safety of group saving, with faster fund top-ups and immediate payouts supporting their vision of becoming a premier group money account for friends across Europe.

According to Arjen van Klaarbergen, Quantoz Payments’ Chief Legal Officer, the new service provides fintechs and platforms with a regulated digital-money infrastructure, eliminating the need to develop their own compliance, safeguarding, and payment operations from scratch. Operating under its existing regulatory framework, Quantoz is licensed as an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) in the Netherlands, adhering to European regulatory standards for safeguarding funds received in exchange for e-money. The Embedded Payment Services are accessible to fintechs, platforms, and payment service providers throughout the European Economic Area (EEA), offering a robust solution for businesses looking to enhance their payment capabilities.
