Trump’s Gaza Disarmament Plan Supported by Dutch Foreign Minister

The Dutch Foreign Minister, Tom Berendsen, has expressed support for a new roadmap proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump aimed at the disarmament of Hamas and other armed factions in Gaza. Berendsen described the plan as a “hopeful” measure that could lead to greater stability in the region.

This U.S.-endorsed initiative suggests a phased approach where Hamas would inventory and secure its heavy weapons, military installations, weapons depots, and tunnels. Concurrently, it envisions a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces during the disarmament process. Berendsen emphasized that this proposal holds the potential to enhance Israel’s security, support the reconstruction of Gaza, and pave the way for enduring peace between Israelis and Palestinians.

Hamas has confirmed the existence of a plan involving its disarmament and a corresponding Israeli pullout. However, another armed group in Gaza has outright rejected any plans that would require it to relinquish its weapons.

To date, Israel has not made any public comments regarding this initiative.
